The most wicked people were zealots (in Hebrew, Kannaim)
I have in
mind Paul Pot, who killed three quarters of his people in Cambodia, in order to
create a better Cambodia. I have in mind Torquemada, who tortured
many, burned them on the stake and sent hundreds of thausands of Jews from
Spain to exile and to death, for the sake of Jesus. I have in mind Stalin,
who killed 35 million peasants in Russia for the victory of Communism. I have in
mind Savonarola, who led a regime of extreme piousness in Florence until his
people killed him.
I have in mind Hitler, who caused the death, not only of 6 million Jews but also
the death of many Gypsies, Russians and even his German followers.
There are many more cases of people who did horrible acts,
and because they were sure they were 100% right, they believed they were
justified in committing these crimes.
