My study focuses on the ability of task relevant and irrelevant information to direct our attention, and subsequently affect our performance by using flanker tasks. Specifically, I am examining the interactions between emotional and non-emotional stimuli and attention. Another factor that is being studied is the differences between emotional stimuli presented inside versus outside the main focus of attention.
