Surface Phenomena - "the Artists of Nature":
Art via Science

On the surface of things wonderful patterns are generated. It has just to be revealed

"An initial dye pattern put on the surface of a viscous fluid (left), if deformed due to repeated processes of intermittent rotations of two cylinders inserted into a fluid, creates a beautiful pattern (right)" - the new "Rheo-Art" by Ryuji Takaki.

On a metal structure (left) immersed in a soap solution and taken out, thin films are formed due to surface tension forces. Their interaction with light, as captured on film by Karl E.Deckart, creates unpredictable aesthetic patterns (right).
